The Al-Imdaad Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian aid relief organisation (NGO) registered in the Republic of South Africa, dedicated to providing humanitarian services in crisis and non-crisis situations to most needy orphans, widows and destitute, irrespective of race, religion, culture, creed and geographical boundary.

Return; Refund and cancellation policies

We will refund donations to donors in full within 30 days.

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Governing law

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa.

Customer Privacy policy

The Al-Imdaad Foundation shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. Payment options accepted

Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express Cards or by bank transfer into the Al-Imdaad Foundation’s bank account, the details of which are on this website.

Card acquiring and security

Card transactions will be acquired for the Al-Imdaad Foundation via PayFast and PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are approved payment gateways for all South African Acquiring Banks. DPO PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no card details are stored on the website. Customer details separate from card details

Variation

The Al-Imdaad Foundation may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.

Anonymous Receipts if enabled will show "Anonymous" as your name on your receipts . If you do not want your name to be shown on your receipts , enable Anonymous Receipts.If you do want your name to be shown on your receipts select "No" for Anonymous receipts .

Debit Order Terms and Conditions

I / We hereby request, "instruct" and authorise you to draw against my / our account with the above mentioned bank stipulated amount. I / We understand that all such withdrawals from my / our bank account by you shall be treated as though they had been signed by me / us personally.

We understand that the withdrawals hereby authorise will be processed by computer through a system known as the ACB Magnet Tape Service and I / We also understand that details of each withdrawal will be printed on my bank statement or on acompanying voucher.

This authority may be cancelled by me / us by giving you thirty days notice in writing. I / We shall not be entitled to any amounts, which you have withdrawn in terms of the above transaction while authority was in force.

Calender Usage and Infomation

If one knows the Islamic Date of when your Zakaat is due.Click the Islamic Calender Date to find the Spot Price of Gold and Silver for that Day, otherwise use the Gregorian Calendar.

Once you have clicked on either Calender the opposite Calender will show the converted Date.

Please Note the Calenders is only able to fetch prices for past Dates.

Rates and Nisaab Value

Nisaab : Is based on the Silver Value per gram multiplied by 612.36 grams.

Gold and Silver

Zakaat on Jewellery and precious metal coins is based on the weight of gold/silver- Simply enter the appropriate weights

Zakaat on KrugerRands (fixed weight) is based on the number of coins in possession.

Money

Zakaat should be paid on 2.5% of all cash and bank balances standing in your favour. Where practical reduce the amount by interest accrued.

Investments

Zakaat is payable on the current market price of all investments and shares.Where practical reduce the amount by interest accrued.

Some of the items listed under 'Select Investment Type' are impermissable as they are essentially interest bearing instuments.

The payment of zakaat on the items mentioned do not legitimise or clense them

It is better to avoid trading in or holding (impermissable) assets.

Business

Include all Trade Debtors: Do not deduct bad debts in this section

Use the current market price to determine the appropiate value for your inventory

It might be more practical to work out a value based on the wholesale price assuming all the stock were to be sold in one single transaction on a willing buyer/seller basis

Professional or service orientated businesses e.g. lawyers, doctors, plumbers etc. should not capture monies owing to them for services rendered. The ‘Debtors Section’ should be used for this.

Polices

For conventional (non-Sharia compliant policies) first establish the premiums paid to date and the current value of the policy (whether accessible or not) and pay on the lesser amount as only that portion that equals your contributions (i.e. premiums) is halal. In other words, reduce current value by the amount of interest accrued.

For Sharia compliant policies pay Zakaat on the current value of the policy (whether accessible or not).

Zakaat is payable on all monies owing to you if you have a reasonable expectation that such monies are secure (will be paid).

Partnership

This section is to be filled in by people in a partnership type arrangement. Do not use this section for shares on a stock exchange. If there is no balance sheet or if its not current then the net-worth of the company could be equated to the value all share holders are prepared to sell the company for in its entirety, i.e. including stock, fixtures, fittings, motor vehicles etc.

Debtors

Zakaat is payable on all monies owing to you if you have a reasonable expectation that such monies are secure.

Liabilities

You may deduct monies owed by you to others (including institutions). Deduct only what is due and payable today and not future (long-term) debts. Be carefull not to deduct debts already captured in the previous sections.
