Handover of New House for Ladysmith Widow
08 Sep 2018On Sunday September 9th, 2018, Al-Imdaad Foundation teams joined local government officials from the Alfred Duma Municipality and the Honourable KZN Premier, Mr Willies Mchunu to hand over a new home for a Ladysmith widow. The widow was overjoyed and said that the “Almighty had made the impossible possible” and her wish for a new home had come true. She expressed thanks to all those who had come together to make her new home possible.
Al-Imdaad Foundation recently partnered with government to help build a new home for a struggling Ladysmith Widow. The deceased husband had first applied for an RDP house with the Department of Human Settlements in late 2005 but by the time he passed away of debilitating illness in 2015, they were still struggling to pay rental. Al-Imdaad Foundation came on board for the project after a request from the office of the KZN MEC for Housing, Mr Ravi Pillay who had visited the area in 2016, and came to know of the case. Land for the house was subsequently provided by the local municipality and Al-Imdaad Foundation came on board to provide building materials and furnishings.
