Joint Distribution with OSS in the Mbo-Imbabazane area
24 Oct 2013The Al-Imdaad Foundation participated in a joint distribution with Operation Sukuma Sakhe to needy community members in the Imbabazane area in northern KZN province. The beneficiaries had been identified by local OSS task teams and the Al-Imdaad Foundation responded with distributions which included food hampers, wheelchairs, walking sticks, blankets and warm hats. Beneficiaries included students at three local crèches, elderly and disabled community members and numerous impoverished families. The local communities were very grateful to the Foundation for its much needed interventions.
OSS-Operation Mbo: Islamic Medical Association outreach programme in the Kwamanzini area
05 Oct 2013In partnership with OSS and the Islamic Medical Association, the Al-Imdaad Foundation participated in a medical outreach program where blankets and walking sticks were distributed to vulnerable members of the local community in the Kwamanzini area. The outreach programme took place at the Mhlanganelwa High school.
OSS intervention in Ladysmith with the Department of Social Development
19 Aug 2013The Al-Imdaad Foundation distributed kitchen utensils, mattresses and blankets to vulnerable members of the Ladysmith community that had been identified by the Department of Social Development.
OSS intervention in Brakfal
19 Aug 2013The Al-Imdaad Foundation participated in an intervention in the Brakfal area outside of Ladysmith in partnership with the department of social development. The Banze family, who were targeted for the distribution is originally from Mozambique. They were living in very difficult conditions in plastic house very little belongings at all. The man of the house also attempted to commit suicide recently as he missed his family in Mozambique.
The family was thereafter moved to a house in a rural area in Ladysmith. The house they are staying in has no electricity and they collect water from a small dam a few kilometres from the house. The Al-Imdaad Foundation travelled 23 km into the deep rural area where this family lived to distribute mattresses, blankets, kitchen utensils and food aid.
Al-Imdaad Foundation furnishes the house of a centenarian and world war 2 veteran in Ladysmith
25 Apr 2013During the celebration of freedom month, the Al-Imdaad Foundation participated in the handing over of a new house for one of world war 2’s unsung heroes. Mkhulu Mkhize is a 119 year old South African that participated in numerous battles during world war 2. The handover of his new house was attended many dignitaries including the Honourable Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize, the Honourable District Mayor of Uthukela Cllr Mazibuko and the Honourable Mayor of Ladysmith Cllr Madlala in addition to HOD’S, Councillors and OSS representatives. The Al-Imdaad Foundation contributed to the hand over through the distribution of furniture, blankets and kitchen appliances for Mkhulu’s new house.
Distribution of uniforms at Khabazela High school
04 Feb 2013In early February 2013 the Al-Imdaad Foundation partnered with Operation Sukuma Sakhe to distribute uniforms at Khabazela high school in Hillcrest. The School had seen a turnaround after consistently producing poor results and the Al-Imdaad Foundation in partnership with OSS aimed at supporting the initiative of the staff and students who had made the necessary changes to bring about positive outcomes.
Partnering with Operation Sukuma Sakhe allows the Al-Imdaad Foundation to directly target the specific needs of rural South Africans. By addressing cases that have been identified and profiled by local task teams and Community Care Givers the Al-Imdaad Foundation can target the poorest students, elderly and disabled community members, child headed households and other vulnerable groups providing specific items that directly address their requirements.
