RAMADAAN : 1435 - 2014 For some Muslims each day in the blessed month of Ramadaan is one more experience of the spiritual joys of voluntary hunger. For others it’s one more day of surviving involuntary starvation and the casualties of extreme poverty, floods, ethnic cleansing, famine and war with little or no resources to access food and other basic needs. Orphans, destitute children, widows and refugees brave hour after hour with insufficient nutrition necessary for survival as the scale of disasters and conflict increases globally and desperate pleas of the hungry, thirsty and oppressed men, women, widows and orphans resound with a deafening echo. As we feel thankful for the joy and happiness the Holy Month of Ramadaan brings for us remember it is also a month of giving and the preferred month in which many discharge their obligatory charity. As Muslims we honour our duty to help those mired in adversity and as such, The Al-Imdaad Foundation has, since its inception 11 years ago, been coordinating various initiatives during the Holy month of Ramadaan, including Iftaars, food aid distributions, eid gifts and educational aid in various countries around the world. Through these Ramadaan programmes the Al-Imdaad Foundation attempts to reach Millions of needy brothers and sisters across the world, ensuring your generous donations and zakaat are delivered to those who have nothing in this month of plenty.
