Al-Imdaad Responds to Estcourt Storm Disaster
05 Feb 2013The quiet town of Estcourt was struck by a severe hail storm on Wednesday, the 6th of February 2012. Four areas bore the brunt of the storm with Colita, Lyndhurst, Rensburg and Mabalonini suffering the most damage. Many businesses in town also suffered damage to their buildings and goods and many homes also had their roofs blown away by the rasping winds that accompanied the storm. The Al-Imdaad Foundation responded by initially arranging a bus to transport affected people to the town hall and thereafter food, blankets, baby diapers were distributed with the assistance of the Umtshezi Local Disaster Management. The Al-Imdaad Foundation also provided 100 people with three meals a day for three days at the Forderville Community Hall.
