“It is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches ALLAH; it is your piety that reaches Him,”

Asalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakaatuh Peace be upon you and your family. May the choicest of mercies and salutations be upon our Noble and beloved master, a mercy unto mankind, Nabi Muhammad Salahu Alayhi Wasalam. Alhumdulilah, another day of festivity and auspiciousness is about to dawn upon us - Eid-ul-Adha. Let us seize this opportunity to reflect and contemplate upon the noble sacrifices displayed by Nabi Ebrahim A.S. and his beloved son, Nabi Ismail A.S that has allowed Muslims across the globe to experience and celebrate this day of Eid-ul-Adha. Their remarkable willingness and outstanding quality of total submission to the command of ALLAH TA’ALA has earned them the pleasure of ALLAH TA’ALA. All Muslims ought to strive in earning and acquiring the pleasure of ALLAH TA’ALA by displaying qualities of obedience, patience and gratitude. In lieu of the following Ayah mentioned in Surah Hajj, Ayah number 37, wherein ALLAH TA’ALA mentions and states: “It is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches ALLAH; it is your piety that reaches Him,” the Al-Imdaad Foundation and its staff strive to excel spiritually through its humanitarian endeavours globally, thereby determined to earn the pleasure of ALLAH TA’ALA. We beg and beseech from ALLAH TA’ALA to guide and channel us upon a noble path in our humanitarian activities verbatim to that of our pious predecessors and ultimately, the beloved of ALLAH TA’ALA-Nabi Muhammad Salahu Alayhi Wasalam. The day of Eid-ul-Adha will see food, drink and fresh meat in abundance. But let us not relieve ourselves from the thought that there are still high levels of poverty and desperation in the world today. Our relief teams have personally experienced high levels of desperation in Haiti at the beginning of the year and lately in Pakistan. From my last letter to you, the Al-Imdaad Foundation has been quite active and robust with its continued relief operations in Pakistan. Alhumdulilah, through the Fadl (Grace) of ALLAH TA’ALA, much has been accomplished and significant strides achieved in assisting the victims of the great flood. Our relief strategies have now evolved from an emergency response to a rehabilitative one. The much recent volcanic activity in Mount Merapi has also kept us engrossed with our emergency relief team presently executing humanitarian relief programmes for the many victims of the volcanic eruptions. Many sacrifices have also been made by our relief teams who chose to spend this joyous day of Eid away from their families and loved ones in order to help and assist those in need. After much logistical and travel challenges, our team is presently in Yogyakarta executing crucial relief operations. On behalf of our trustees, staff, donors and recipients, we take this opportunity to wish you and your families well over the days of Ayaam-e-Tashreek. Please remember us in your humble Duas, especially the impoverished citizens of this Ummah. Yours in humanity Your brother in Islam Yacoob Vahed National Co-ordinator AL IMDAAD FOUNDATION
