Al-Imdaad responds to the 2003 Algerian earthquake.

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Algeria on Wednesday the 21st of May 2003. This devastating earthquake claimed the lives of 2200 people, injured over 10 000 and left more than 20 000 families homeless, forcing them to live in tents and other makeshift shelters. The quake, the worst to hit Algeria in over two decades, completely flattened the town of Zemmouri which lay at the epicentre.
